Rebate details
Applications for the electronic identification (eID) device rebate are open to sheep and farmed goat producers who purchase 2023 year-of-birth NLIS-accredited tags.
The eID device rebate is part of the Government of South Australia's stage 1 support package to assist primary producers in transitioning to the national eID traceability system for sheep and goats.
Amounts
You can apply for a rebate on the purchase price of eligible eID devices of 50% up to a cap of $0.95 (GST exclusive) per tag.
Eligibility
The eID device rebate is open to South Australian sheep and farmed goat producers who:
- have an active property identification code (PIC) registered with PIRSA
- purchase NLIS-accredited eID breeder tags for sheep or goats in the 2023 year-of-birth colour (sky blue)
- provide invoices and proof of payment for purchases between 1 January and 31 December 2023.

Supporting documents
Download and complete the supporting documents for your application:
- vendor creation form () – to enable payment
- acquittal form () – this is a legal requirement
- statement by supplier not quoting an ABN () – if applicable.
All claims must be supported by evidence of payment for the eID devices. Prepare one of the following options to attach in the application:
- an official receipt – either a copy of a printed receipt, or an email receipt from your purchase order
- your bank statement showing:
- the date of payment
- the amount
- either the supplier name or invoice number
- an official tax invoice stating that the amount owing is zero dollars
- a supplier statement that shows you have made payment against the relevant invoice number.
The evidence of payment must be accompanied by an official tax invoice, or the order confirmation email, that includes:
- a description of the tag type
- year-of-birth colour.

- Open the eID device rebate application form on the myPIRSA portal.
- Login or register for myPIRSA.
- Select 'Launch service' (blue button).
- To apply for 'eID device rebate' service, click 'submit' (blue button).
- Select 'eID device rebate' approved service (green and white button).
- Complete the online application form and attach all of the supporting documents:
- official tax invoices
- evidence of payment for the eID devices
- vendor creation form
- acquittal form
- statement by supplier form (if applicable).
- Submit your application.
Only one application form per PIC will be accepted. If you have multiple PICs, you need to complete the application process for each PIC.
You will receive a receipt number upon submitting the online form. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval of a rebate.
Applications will be assessed by PIRSA in the order they are received, and outcomes will be advised in approximately 4 weeks.
