Forestry Centre of Excellence

The South Australian Government has committed $15 million over 10 years for a new Forestry Centre of Excellence in Mount Gambier. This incorporates the National Institute for Forest Products Innovation (NIFPI) and other forestry funding streams.

We anticipate that the Centre will be acknowledged as an international leader in forest industries for:

  • research
  • education
  • product
  • market development.

It will further enhance the Green Triangle region through building local capacity, national collaboration, and reputation.

The plan sets the vision and foundations for industry collaboration to elevate research outcomes with clear translation into business and supporting additional workforce capability and investment in new innovations across forest industries.
