Forestry Centre of Excellence

The South Australian Government has committed $15 million over 10 years for a new Forestry Centre of Excellence in Mount Gambier. This incorporates the National Institute for Forest Products Innovation (NIFPI) and other forestry funding streams.

We anticipate that the Centre will be acknowledged as an international leader in forest industries for:

• research
• education
• product
• market development.

It will further enhance the Green Triangle region through building local capacity, national collaboration, and reputation.

Partnerships

The Centre, to be built on the Wireless Road tertiary precinct, will accommodate some of the sector’s pre-eminent bodies. These include:

• UniSA’s Forest Research Mount Gambier
• the Green Triangle Forest Industries Hub
• Tree Breeding Australia
• LITA Training.
