Aquaculture community consultation
PIRSA consults with the South Australian public, aquaculture industry, and other stakeholders on draft aquaculture policies and applications for new aquaculture licences.
This consultation is a requirement of the Aquaculture Act 2001 and an opportunity for those interested to provide feedback on matters relating to proposed policies or aquaculture activities.
Public notice of a lease or licence variation is not required under the Act , however notice of applications may be published on the PIRSA website to allow for greater transparency on the aquaculture activity proposed – see Lease and licence variation application assessment process.
Your feedback helps inform the decision-making process and maximise benefits to the community from the state's aquaculture resources.
