The Food Safety Program ensures the safety of food production and processing in primary industries.
Our Biosecurity division maintains the productivity of our primary industries, protects our natural environments and sustains the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Meat (including poultry)
All meat processing and handling businesses must comply with food safety arrangements in the Meat Scheme.

Seafood
The Seafood Food Safety Scheme applies to all aquaculture and fisheries license holders catching or producing fish for human consumption.

Horticulture (including citrus)
Businesses that pack fruit or vegetables may be subject to inspections by local council environmental health officers.

Dairy
Find the regulations for dairy businesses and information to apply for accreditation through the dairy authority of SA.

Eggs
Egg food safety is regulated under the Primary Produce (Food Safety Schemes) (Egg) Regulations 2012).
