Landholder responsibilities
It is your responsibility to control and report certain weeds that threaten primary industries, the natural environment, and public safety.
Declared plants
Declared plants are weeds that are regulated under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 due to their potential damage.
Learn how to identify declared weeds in SA that may appear on your property, and what to do about them.
These plants have requirements around movement, sale, notification and control. Find out more:

Alert weeds
A declared plant can also be an alert weed when it is not established in South Australia and poses a serious threat to the state.
Early detection is important, so the plant can be destroyed before it becomes a problem. Landholders must report alert weeds found on their property.
See the SA alert weed guide ( ) for more information.
Aquatic weeds
Aquatic weeds are relatively uncommon in South Australia. Help us keep it that way by familiarising yourself with how to identify an aquatic weed and reporting their presence.
