Landholder responsibilities

It is your responsibility to control and report certain weeds if you find them on your property.

You can use controlling declared weeds in SA to find weeds that may be on your property, and what to do about them.

Declared plants

Declared plants are weeds that are regulated under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 due to their threat to primary industry, the natural environment and public safety.

Plants declared under this Act regulate their movement, sale, notification and control.

Alert weeds

  • is not established in South Australia
  • poses a serious threat.

Early detection is important so the plant is destroyed before it becomes a serious problem.

Landholders must report alert weeds found on their property.

Aquatic weeds

Aquatic weeds are relatively uncommon in South Australia. You can help us keep it that way by familiarising yourself with their appearance and reporting their presence.
