Instructions on documentation for moving sheep and goats are below.
National Sheep Health Declaration
The National Sheep Health Declaration requires the owner/manager of animals to declare information about:
- Ovine Johne’s disease
Failure to provide a National Sheep Health Declaration is an offence under the Livestock Act 1997 and can result in expiation notices and fines.
National Vendor Declaration
National Vendor Declaration Forms are available from Integrity Systems. Go to their website for instructions on how to order forms.
Sheep being moved that are not vendor bred must have either:
- all Property Identification Codes on the National Vendor Declaration form
- pink post-breeder tags with a Property Identification Code.
See an example of a correctly filled out National Vendor Declaration ( or ) with associated Property Identification Codes listed.
Sheep and goat Movement Waybill
A Movement Waybill can be used as an alternative document to a National Vendor Declaration. Movement Waybills meet the National Livestock Identification System requirements for moving sheep in South Australia.
National Vendor Declarations are required when the movement involves a change of ownership.
