Successful applicants for SA's AgTech Producer Groups

Tuesday 16 April 2024

The successful applicants for the AgTech Producer Groups initiative have been selected with $324,257 in funding allocated to help support producers in harnessing technology for industry-specific improvements.

The State Government launched the expressions of interest process for producer groups last December for funding of up to $18,500 (ex GST) to cover the costs of activities such as engaging a facilitator, convening workshops, and travelling to demonstration farms to view potential technology options.

The initiative aims to increase producer knowledge and understanding of available AgTech solutions in a peer-to-peer learning environment which better supports AgTech adoption. The successful applicants are from across the livestock, viticulture, seafood, horticulture, and grains sectors.

Each group will learn different ways AgTech can be used to upskill and support producers with topics ranging from increasing water use efficiency, optimising the use of electronic identification (eID) data, mapping of soils, understanding technologies to make appropriate spraying decisions and using drones for monitoring, mapping, spraying, and seeding.
