Assisting producers in the uptake of AgTech in South Australia is behind the new look $555,000 AgTech Producer Groups initiative, set to roll out in early 2024.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now being sought from eligible primary producers and producer groups wanting to advance knowledge and use of AgTech.
Now part of PIRSA’s AgTech Program, this initiative has been expanded to include all primary production sectors and is aimed at increasing producers’ knowledge and understanding of available AgTech solutions, in a peer-to-peer learning environment.
Under the EOI process, interested producer groups will be able to apply for funding towards the delivery of activity costs such as:
- facilitator engagement
- workshop convening
- training in the use of AgTech solutions
- expert presenter costs
- travelling to demonstration farms to view potential technology options.
The funding will cover activities conducted from early next year (2024) through to 31 May 2025. The maximum amount of funding allocated to each AgTech Producer Group is $18,500 (ex. GST).
The new initiative is modelled on the previously successful Red Meat and Wool Growth Program Producer Technology Groups, which formed part of the now completed Red Meat and Wool Growth Program.
The EOI process will close on Monday, 19 February 2024.
