South Australia’s Family and Business (FaB) Support Program supports the health and wellbeing of communities in South Australia affected by severe weather events.
The FaB Support team provide an informal, confidential, independent and understanding contact at no cost.
FaB support mentors are based in or near the drought affected areas of upper Eyre Peninsula, Murray-Mallee, Upper North, Eudunda- Worlds End district and the pastoral areas as well as the Adelaide Hills to support growers affected by hail storm damage
It is modelled on the successful FaB Scout programs deployed during the Millennium drought in 2009/10 and more recently to assist Riverland producers affected by the 2016 storm.
The Family and Business (FaB) Support team members and services
Our FaB Support team members come from a variety of regional business and agricultural backgrounds.
Each member is experienced in discussing and addressing the wide array of difficult issues that come about as a result of severe weather and other adverse events.
Our team members work closely with other service providers such as Rural Financial Counselling and local health networks and can connect people to these services as required.
They can also help make the connection between drought assistance and other support measures available through government, non-government, community and donors.
They will respond to direct requests for help from people or from others concerned about the wellbeing of a family member, friend, neighbour or client. This service is provided at no cost to producers.
