Game changing tech innovations to enhance SA farm sustainability

Tuesday 4 April 2023

Grants of up to $100,000 are available for AgTech projects solving specific challenges facing South Australia's agricultural sectors.

The Government of South Australia's AgTech Growth Fund will provide funding to primary producers and AgTech business partners to accelerate the development and commercialisation of technological innovations.

To be eligible for the grants, producers and AgTech businesses will work together to develop new technology that addresses one of three specific industry challenges:

  • improving drought resilience and climate adaptation for primary producers
  • improving carbon management, sustainability or natural capital on farm to measure and monitor performance to consumers and the supply chain
  • improving market access and maximizing value for primary producers through traceability and credentialing.

Applications are now open and close on 2 May at 5pm.

See the full eligibility details for the AgTech Growth Fund.

In June 2022, 9 South Australian businesses and organisations received funding through the inaugural AgTech Growth Fund.

This included Beston Global Food Company, which is headquartered in Adelaide. They received a grant to digitally capture the reduction in methane gas emissions from dairy cows by using food supplements in a controlled trial on two South Australian dairy farms.
