Funding boost to Primary Producers South Australia

Tuesday 4 July 2023

Primary Producers South Australia (PPSA) will receive $750,000 over the next three years to support its leadership role on behalf of the primary industry sector in South Australia.

The Thriving Regions Fund – Strengthening Industries Program, supports primary or regional industries impacted by significant supply chain disruptions, market access constraints or changes to the operating environment.

Through this program, the Government recognises the importance of industries that support our regions to thrive. PPSA coordinates and represents the primary industry sector, providing one voice and thereby valuable input to key government policy and programs.

The State Government funding will enable PPSA not only to advocate on behalf of primary producers but also, in conjunction with the Department of Primary Industry and Regions (PIRSA), deliver on key priorities identified at the Primary Industries and Regions Forum: Transitioning to a Green Economy held in April.

These priorities include the implementation of a carbon farming roadmap, developing leadership capacity in agriculture, and promoting primary industry career pathways.
