Recreational snapper fishing to continue in South East waters

1 July 2022

Recreational fishers can continue to fish for snapper in the South East waters of South Australia, with the recreational fishing share of the total allowable catch equating to 2,585 individual snapper from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.

Temporary cuttlefish closure northern Spencer Gulf

14 May 2022

A temporary, 12-month closure is in place in the waters of Spencer Gulf north of the line between Arno Bay and Wallaroo. The closure prohibits the targeting and take of cuttlefish from 14 May 2022 to 13 May 2023.

Spearfishing now allowed on metropolitan beaches

Fishing bans imposed around newly constructed metro shellfish reefs
