Community forum to highlight status of native fish

Friday 21 October 2022

Riverland locals interested to learn the status of native fish in the Lower Murray-Darling Basin are invited to a community forum, where scientists will share the latest research findings.

It will be a chance to learn the current status of Murray cod and golden perch populations, and how river flows, including environmental water, can benefit fish.

Find out why, how and where fish screens on irrigation pumps are being used to protect native fish; and learn about community volunteering opportunities with Fishcare.

The Riverland Community Forum is taking place on Thursday 27 October at the Renmark Hotel, Renmark, from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Bookings are essential. To learn more and to register, go to Fish and flows.

The forum is presented by the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office, the Department of Primary Industries and Regions’ research and development arm, the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) along with other partners.
