Previous Snapper research
There has been a significant amount of research undertaken on Snapper in South Australia since the late 1970s. This work was initially led by the Department of Fisheries, and in more recent years, by the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI).
It involves collaboration with leading researchers from across Australia and overseas. Some projects are funded by external sources such as the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC).
Key research outputs

Stock assessment and management
Stock assessments consider biological and fishery data to determine the status of SA's 3 community-shared Snapper stocks.

Research projects
Our research improves the understanding of Snapper biology, fishery-related issues, and assessment methods.

Scientific manuscripts
Manuscripts provide the output of our research projects and are peer-reviewed by experts in the field.
