The Minister's Recreational Fishing Advisory Council has met for the first time, creating a new voice to government.
The inaugural meeting of newly established Minister's Recreational Fishing Advisory Council was held in Port Pirie on Wednesday 17 April.
The meeting delivers on an important election commitment to the state's recreational fishing community.
All nine members met with Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone to discuss a number of issues facing the recreational fishing sector.
Graham Keegan was unanimously appointed as the Chair of the Council, and the council was tasked with developing a growth strategy for the state's recreational fishing sector.
The Council will meet face-to-face three times a year, with the opportunity for the Chair to call more meetings. A public communique summarising the key outcomes of the meeting will also be available after each meeting.
The members of the Minister's Recreational Fishing Advisory Council are Graham Keegan, Ian Fitzgerald, John Thomas, Tracey Tito, Peter Teakle, Brian Wheadon, Amanda Whitehorn, Shane Mensforth and Dave Scholefield.
