The Winter Cereal Management Guide was a major undertaking, funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), which brought together in a publication for easy use by farmers, the latest information on cereal crop agronomy.

The Guide offered farmers practical information to improve productivity in winter cereals that until then had not been available from a single published source.

The Guide involved wide consultation and established a new benchmark for presentation. It was launched and distributed by the GRDC in large numbers at the 1991 Yorke Peninsula Field Days for $5 a copy.

Grace Taylor, Ken Holden and Tom Yeatman were the SA Department of Agriculture staff that compiled and edited the publication. The photograph shows Department of Agriculture agronomy staff working together at an editing session of the publication.
