PreDicta pt

PreDicta Pt (Pt = potato) is a DNA-based soil testing service.

It identifies whether certain soilborne pathogens pose a significant risk to potato crops prior to planting.

PreDicta Pt tests provide you with an indication of the risk of:

  • Powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea)
  • Black dot (Colletotrichum coccodes)
  • Root knot nematode (Meloidogyne fallax).

They also provide indications of DNA level research results for:

  • Streptomyces txtA gene
  • Rhizoctonia solani AG3
  • Rhizoctonia solani AG2.1
  • Meloidogyne hapla
  • Verticillium dahliae
  • Pratylenchus penetrans
  • Pratylenchus neglectus
  • Pratylenchus crenatus.

The results are for information only. Sensitivity and risk categories are not available for these tests.

Access PreDicta Pt testing service

If you are a potato grower, you can access Predicta Pt diagnostic services through accredited SARDI trained agronomists. Contact us for a local contact.

Our agronomists will interpret the test results and give your advice on management options to reduce your risk of yield loss.

We process PreDicta Pt samples fortnightly from mid-June to the end of October every year.

This timeframe helps us assist you with your paddock and disease management planning.

PreDicta Pt is not intended for in-crop diagnosis, instead see plant health diagnostic services.
