Irrigation Industry Improvement Program

The $240 million Irrigation Industry Improvement Program (3IP) component of SARMS is a competitive grants program created by industry to support the restoration of a healthy Murray-Darling Basin environment. The program aims to recover 40 gigalitres of water access entitlements from participating irrigators.

3IP is the flagship element of SARMS and is supporting SA River Murray irrigators to remain at the forefront of irrigation practice. It also helps irrigators and the wider communities respond to the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and be more resilient to the effects of fluctuating water availability.

SARMS 3IP has offered funding to 186 projects to date throughout the River Murray regions and helped secure around 35 gigalitres of water ready to be returned to the river. Download a map of current 3IP projects (PDF 1.0 MB), which have been offered funding.
