30 May 2011
Regional Development Minister Gail Gago affirmed the State Government's commitment to the Whyalla region during a recent visit to the city where she met with business, industry and community representatives, including the RDA board, as part of her mission to become familiar with local priorities across the region.
“I’m keen to hear views about how we can best leverage the Government’s Enterprise Zone Fund for the Upper Spencer Gulf and Outback,” the Minister said.
“It's imporant to hear about the potential projects and what’s occurring to maximise the unique opportunity that’s available.
“We’ll be seeking quality applications to fund these potential projects.”
The South Australian Government has committed $4 million over four years towards the Enterprise Zone Fund for the Upper Spencer Gulf and Outback.
The Fund is aimed at capturing the benefits of growing industries to further strengthen USG and Outback communities and capture business from the expansion of the resources, energy and allied service industries.
