The State Government is again offering to fund key local rural projects across South Australia in the latest round of Regional Project Fund grants.
Announcing the opening of grant funding applications for Regional Development Australia (RDA) associations, Regional Development Minister, Michael O'Brien says the fund assists the long-term sustainability and growth of regional economies.
"I encourage all RDA associations across the State to submit important local projects for consideration," Mr O'Brien says.
"These projects will need to have substantial economic benefits, such as job creation, capital investment, increasing Gross State Product and import replacement.
"The new RDA boards are made up of local people with the leadership and commitment to work with government to develop their communities.
"These new associations are a local voice for rural communities across the State and have the ability to support and deliver small projects of key economic importance to South Australia," Mr O'Brien says.
"The network of RDA associations can assist in the delivery of government programs and services to South Australia's communities and implement a co-ordinated approach to developing South Australia's regions.'
Applications close on Friday May 28, 2010.
Regional Development Australia is a joint initiative of the Commonwealth, South Australian and local governments.
