The Agrifood and Wine Industry Workforce Action Plan has been released by the Food, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Skills Advisory Council and the Primary Industry Skills Council.
Like other parts of the economy, the agrifood and wine sectors are experiencing the effects of demographic, technological and climatic change.
The actions contained in this Plan will ensure a suitably skilled workforce is available to support the growth and development of the agriculture, viticulture, food production and food processing industries.
It follows the release of Industry Workforce Action Plans (IWAP) for the defence, construction, and health and community services sectors.
An industry-led Agrifood and Wine Alliance is being established to oversee its implementation.
