Media Release | 1 September 2008
A new transport corridor at Brinkley, south west of Tailem Bend, will boost the economy of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
The $1.2 million upgrading and sealing of Kangaroo Rd will service a major new composting facility established by Peats Soils and Garden Supplies.
Peats Soils will employ 15 new staff and the upgraded transport corridor is expected to lead to a cluster of complementary businesses.
The project received $450,000 through the South Australian Government's Regional Development Infrastructure Fund and $733,000 from the Federal Government's Auslink Supplementary Roads to Recovery Program.
Minister Karlene Maywald says the road will help support the development of a bio-precinct in the region.
