Population Boost

South Australia's regional population growth is picking up pace with the State's growing economic fortunes.

Recent Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show regional population growth for the decade to June 2006 contributed to an increasing proportion of the State's overall population. Average growth in non-metropolitan areas was 0.9 percent compared with the State's historical growth area in Adelaide averaging 0.6 percent.
