The much-loved Cellar Door Fest will return to the Adelaide Convention Centre from 2 to 4 March 2018, showcasing more than 180 South Australian wineries, breweries, distilleries and food producers, as well as our most renowned women in wine.
Primary Industries and Regions SA is proud to sponsor the 2018 Cellar Door Fest, which this year sees the addition of the Great Wine Capitals Discovery Space. The unique wine area allows guests to meet 2017 and 2018 Best of Wine Tourism Award winners, attend a free masterclass and learn more about Adelaide, South Australia’s membership to the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.
The masterclasses will be presented by some of South Australia’s most influential women in wine, who will lead guests through a tasting of their own wines alongside an international addition.
Winemaker Louisa Rose, Yalumba, is presenting one class alongside Emma Raidis, Raidis Estate, after both women attended the Australian Women in Wine Awards held in London in September 2017.
“These masterclasses will provide guests with a unique opportunity to learn about the wine industry from our perspective, as well as what makes Adelaide, South Australia a Great Wine Capital of the World,” Ms Rose said.
“Women are playing a significant role in driving our wine industry, and it is great to recognise their ability and achievements.”
The masterclasses will be led by:
- Kathy Drogemuller, Paracombe Wines
- Louise Mack, Aphelion Wine
- Emma Raidis, Raidis Estate
- Louisa Rose, Yalumba
- Christie Schulz, Turkey Flat
- Jenny Semmler, 919 Wines.
A selection of 2017 and 2018 local Best of Wine Tourism Award winners also be exhibiting in the Great Wine Capitals Discovery Space, including international winners Seppeltsfield and Penfolds, and will further acquaint guests with South Australia’s world-class wine.
The Best of Wine Tourism awards celebrate innovation and excellence in wine tourism, with local winners going on to compete internationally with the local winners of the other Great Wine Capital member cities.
