The split size limit on yellowtail kingfish will remain in place until at least 31 December 2009.
Executive Director, PIRSA Fisheries, Mr Will Zacharin announced the extension which allows recreational and commercial fishers to target smaller yellowtail kingfish in the waters of Spencer Gulf only.
“A minimum size limit of 45 centimetres will continue to apply to yellowtail kingfish,” Mr Zacharin said.
“Fish between 45 and 60 centimetres will continue to have a recreational bag limit of 10 and a boat limit of 30. This lower size limit only applies in the waters of Spencer Gulf (north of a line from Cape Catastrophe on Eyre Peninsula to Cape Spencer on Yorke Peninsula).
“Fish greater than 60 centimetres will continue to have a recreational bag limit of two and a boat limit of six.”
