Where can I find and download Spatial Data relating to Petroleum and Minerals?
SARIG is an online web application that enables users to search, view and download information relating to minerals and petroleum exploration in South Australia. Our Legend and Layer lists are now on screen rather than separate pop-up windows and the Layer list has a 2-level tree structure. We also have more layers - including petroleum data and the State's 1:100K geology data. The Legend is now presented in the correct stratigraphic order.
The Layer list is a 'one stop shop' for data:
- Each layer name is a hyperlink to the metadata for that layer.
- There is a 'download' icon alongside each downloadable layer.
- The download icon will give you the chance to specify which projection and format you want and then download the relevant data files and metadata as a zip file for you.
Do you have Petroleum reports and products free to download, if so where?
PIRSA Petroleum and Geothermal have a wide range of data available including:
- relational databases (PEPS - attribute and spatial) containing technical information and mapping data
- online datasets including tenement data, spatial geotechnical data and ancillary data such as topography
- seismic data including a comprehensive digital data set of shotpoint locations and associated attribute data, section databases, an uphole database, field seismic data, survey reports and maps
- drilling data covering well completion reports, well log database, core photos and thin sections.
Previous acreage releases, petroleum reports and data package CDs are also available.

Our SAMREF database (bibliographic and abstract data for open file envelopes, reports etc), Mine Summaries and Plans databases are now available online in SARIG. Not only do these databases support text-based searching, but there is also a spatial interface which allows you to find all reports for any number of 250K, 100K or 50K mapsheets. Reports already in digital format can be downloaded from the site - others can be ordered via email.

The Petroleum Services Directory is an online database containing details on South Australian based petroleum exploration and development consultants and service companies. International companies that have established regional operations in South Australia are also included.
