Seismic Shotpoint Database

This is a comprehensive digital data set of shotpoint locations and associated attribute data from 726 seismic surveys carried out as part of petroleum exploration in South Australia and adjacent waters to latitude 40°S since 1955.

 

Statistics (for surveys in South Australia)
3D seismic surveys - 47 surveys covering an area of 9725 square kms.
2D surveys - 671 surveys totalling 339 000 kms of recorded seismic lines
2.5D surveys - 8 surveys  totalling 2479 kms of digital seismic data.


The index to these data and summary information are also available in PEPS.

 

Line location data is available for purchase in various formats (ESRI shapefile, ASCII) and can be supplied on a variety of media types (CD-ROM, diskette).  Hardcopy maps of seismic line locations, with associated well and tenement information, can also be prepared for any area at any scale.
