All seismic surveys recorded in South Australia are indexedwith a 'survey
code plus key attribute data. The survey code incorporates theyear of recording,
the geological province plus the survey sequence number within that province for
that particular year. When referencing these surveys you should always
incorporate the survey code.
The three spreadsheets which are provided
below are extracts from the Geophysics module of PEPS-SA,
which contains key attribute data relating to each survey.

There are over 100 offshore seismic surveys ranging in vintage from 1960
to 2006 and involving over 138 000 line kilometres of 2D data. All relevant survey details are listed in the South Australian 2D Offshore
Seismic Survey spreadsheet (XLS - 46 KB).
There are also almost 600 onshore surveys also involving over 134 000 line kilometres of data recorded from 1953 to 2006. All relevant survey details are listed in the South Australian 2D Onshore Seismic Survey spreadsheet (XLS - 142 KB).
A total of 55 3D surveys (1981–2006) have been recorded in the onshore sector of SA primarily over the producing areas of the Cooper and Otway Basins. All relevant survey details are listed in the South Australian 3D Seismic Surveys spreadsheet (XLS - 26 KB).
Most of these surveys were recorded by petroleum exploration companies holding exploration permits. There are however references to surveys which were either site surveys, engineering or of an academic nature. Reference is also made to interstate surveys which either cross or come near to the SA border.
