PEPS-SA (Attribute Database)

PEPS-SA (Petroleum Exploration and Production System - South Australia) is a pc-based comprehensive relational database containing a wide range of technical data relevant to the petroleum industry. PEPS-SA is being continually developed and is available for purchase. The key data element is the petroleum well, of which there are ~2300 in South Australia. For each well there may be thousands of attributes. There are eight key modules comprising 99 data sets:

Wells
Basic well data (latitude, longitude, TD, KB, status, classification etc),
well completion reports (reference, scanned). Data are supplied with a PEPS-SA menu-driven windows system, including a new integrated facility to query and export the data. Clients with Paradox can still use it to query the data.
The following excel spreadsheet contains basic well information including spud date, rig release, status, basin, TD, KB, Lat/ Long, Eastings and Northings and well completion report scanning status.

PEPS-SA (Spatial Database)

Bundled with the attribute data are MapInfo spatial data sets. Viewing these data in a mapping package allows the geoscientist to spatially view data sets, to turn on and off various layers of interest, and zoom in and out etc, to allow the generation of custom-built base maps which can be printed.
There are more than 60 separate layers, ranging from general topographic data such as State boundaries, coastline, national parks and restricted areas, road, railways and various tenements, through to geotechnical layers such as basin outlines, well locations, seismic lines, seismic horizons, tectonic provinces, and many more.
The PEPS-SA attribute and spatial databases are bundled together as one package on CD-ROM, priced at A$300. Twice-yearly updates of PEPS-SA cost an additional A$300/year.
