Web browsers that support SARIG features

SARIG was developed and tested for Internet Explorer 5.5 (or above) and uses HTML 4.01 features not supported in earlier web browsers. We have done limited testing with Netscape 7 and found only one problem which we have not yet overcome. This problem relates to the polygon drawing tool for online licence applications and we have found it necessary to disable this function for Netscape 7 users.

To apply for a new mineral exploration licence online, you will need to be using Internet Explorer as your browser.

Using SARIG with Microsoft Vista
The following instructions are required when using Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or greater) with Vista operating system. Note SARIG has been optimised for screen resolutions of at least 1024 x 768

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Select Click Tools ==> Options
  • Select the Advanced tab
  • Scroll down to the bottom and tick 'Use SSL 2.0'
  • Close Internet Explorer
  • Re-open Internet Explorer, and using the following link access SARIG https://egate.pir.sa.gov.au/geoserver/sarig/splash.jsp
  • You will need to disable any Pop-up Blockers that you have installed to allow information result windows to operate correctly (or configure them to accept pages from the .sa.gov.au domain).
