An application for additions to existing miscellaneous purposes licences (MPLs) is made pursuant to Section 35 of the Mining Act 1971 (external site, opens in new window) ('Act') and the regulations thereunder.
The applications are excluded from the definition of 'prescribed mining' hence the proposals are not 'development', pursuant to the Development Act 1993 (external site, opens in new window). The appropriate authority is the Minister administering the Mining Act.
