Mr John Roberts

John_Roberts_webJohn Roberts is President of the South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy, bringing to the role over 50 years experience in the mineral exploration and mining industries.

Mr Roberts began his career as a geologist, involved in extensive and successful exploration. He progressed to management positions in exploration and production companies including Vice President, Manager and Managing Director of Homestake Gold of Australia Limited in the 1980’s. During those years, Mr Roberts guided the company through public listing and increased gold production (from less than 40,000 to over 360,000 ounces per year).

Since 1993, Mr Roberts has been Chairman and Director of a number of exploration and production companies with interests including copper, gold, uranium and nickel. Mr Roberts is currently Chairman of Directors for Adelaide-based companies; Mithril Resources Limited and Australasian Gold Limited.  He is also Chairman of Rum Jungle Uranium Limited; a Darwin-based uranium exploration company.
