Mining Act amendments - new forms from 01 July 2011

 

As part of the amendment process, all forms under the Mining Act 1971 have been updated on 01 July 2011.

The forms have been redesigned to be easier to read and understand, and to provide additional relevant information to the party receiving the form (such as notices to owners of land.)

Some forms have been deleted or merged with other forms, to simplify processes and reduce red tape.

From 01 July 2011, forms in the old format are not valid and cannot be accepted.

Below is a table listing the previous forms, and the related new forms that apply from 01 July 2011.

APPLICANT DETAILS

Many application forms now have a separate attachment for 'applicant details'. For joint applications, each applicant must complete and sign a separate copy of this page.

If the form requires this attachment, it is included within the pdf file of the form.
An additional copy of this page is also available separately at the bottom of the list.

Some important changes to the forms include -

  • The requirement for a Company Seal has been removed from all forms
  • Forms 01-02-03-04 are deleted - Miner's rights have been removed from the Act 
  • New Form 04 - mineral claim: application to peg in an alternate manner
  • Form 11 deleted - a mining lease proposal document is now required with a mining lease application (Form 10)
  • Form 16 deleted - renewal of a retention lease (RL) is now lodged on Form 15
  • Form 18 deleted - renewal of a miscellaneous purposes licence (MPL) is now lodged on Form 15
  • Form 19 deleted - transfer of all lease and licence types is now lodged on Form 13
  • Form 20 deleted - surrender (or partial surrender) of all lease and licence types is now lodged on Form 14
  • Renewal of an exploration licence (EL) is now lodged on Form 29 instead of by letter
