The proposals set out in the paper reflect the State Government’s policy to provide sustainable development legislation that embodies triple-bottom-line principles, and have been set out under one of the three key objectives – ‘Reducing Red Tape’, ‘Greater Transparency’ and ‘Effective Regulation’.
After consideration of the comments received from the release of the consultation paper, a cabinet submission shall be prepared for Cabinet to approve the drafting of an Amendment Bill. Once drafted the Amendment Bill shall be released to all stakeholders for further comment.
Please contact Ms Helen Thomas, Mining Registrar, by telephone on (08) 8463 3097 if you have any questions regarding the consultation process.
