Maps will be completed in the next few weeks plotting the future infrastructure needs of South Australia's resource and energy sector.
The Resources and Energy Sector Infrastructure Council (RESIC) surveyed more than 40 resource and infrastructure companies in June to collect information on expected demand for power, water, gas, telecommunications, road, rail and ports.
RESIC Director Joe Mastrangelo said the survey covered four time frames: one to two years, three to five years, five to 10 years and more than 10 years.
"We expect that the data will give us a view of the current and future requirements of infrastructure for the sector, the impediments to creating it and a basis to inform project developers' investment decisions and government policy," Joe said.
The RESIC team is also keen to hear of any recent similar studies to supplement its current analysis.
"There's a huge amount of information contained within government and the private sector and we'd like to harvest it as efficiently as we can," Joe said.
"Our aim is to promote collaboration among stakeholders while avoiding duplication."
RESIC was established by the State Government to provide high level advice on the strategic directions for the state's emerging minerals and energy sectors and the core infrastructure that will be needed to support its growth.
