The Mineral Resources Division is acknowledged nationally and internationally as the lead agency facilitating ecologically-sustainable mineral exploration production and development in South Australia. The group provides a supportive framework for industry across all areas of development, from initial exploration to operating mines and eventual rehabilitation.
Exploration initiativesThe South Australian Government’s Plan for Accelerating Exploration (PACE) initiative has been expanded with an extra $10.2 million funding. The new PACE initiative, PACE 2020, will focus on maintaining mineral exploration levels at or above the SASP (South Australia Strategic Plan) targets at the same time as offering programs to drive forward mining development. The Resources and Energy Group manages the PACE initiative. PACE won the 2007 Inaugural Premier's Award for Growing Prosperity.
