Gravity Database

The Resource and Energy Group of the Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE) (formerly part of PIRSA) Gravity Database is the product of the amalgamation of historical data, Bureau of Mineral Resources (BMR, now known as Geoscience Australia, GA) regional data, detailed company surveys and DMITRE-sponsored regional surveys.

There are currently approximately 260 000 stations in the database, the most comprehensive in Australia and the largest source of gravity data available for South Australia.

Gravity data sales

A dynamic range of products are available to meet the variable demands of an ever diverse industry.

A choice of observed gravity values in Mgals or µms-2, and Bouguer Gravity can be produced in a variety of forms:

  • located data tape, CD-Rom or DVD
  • gridded data tape, CD-Rom or DVD
  • hardcopy images
  • black and white and full colour contours
