Young Guns

The South Australian Young Guns Project is an initiative of the SA Lamb Development Team (SALDT) which aims to facilitate and support the establishment and operation of seven young sheep and lamb producer groups across South Australia.

The program provides a unique learning and social opportunity for young producers to be involved with a group of like minded people who are seeking new ideas and information. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • meet and interact with other young producers
  • develop industry networks
  • explore their interests
  • develop skills and knowledge.

A series of business management workshops were built into the first year of the program to help groups get started. Outside of this, the opportunity is open for the group to set their own agenda to meet the individual needs of members. A local coordinator will support the group to organise and facilitate meetings and manage the group’s operational requirements.

Becoming involved

Young sheep and lamb producers, aged 18-35 years, are encouraged to become involved.

Young producers can register their interest by contacting Heidi Goers, Coordinator, SA Young Guns Project on 08 8303 7925, email heidi.goers@sa.gov.au or by contacting the local coordinator for their region:

Funding
