The Cooperative Research Centre for Beef Genetic Technologies and SARDI invite you to a field day at Struan Research Centre. The field day will highlight the Beef CRC Maternal Productivity research project being run at the Struan Research centre.
This project is investigating how selection strategies for the beef industry (feed efficiency/fatness) affect the breeding female herd and its economic profitability. This is being done by running 300 Angus heifers and cows plus their calves, selected to be divergent for rib fat and Net Feed Efficiency, under low & high nutritional regimes on the centre’s high intensity rotational grazing (Technograzing) set up.
