Sheep Industry 10 Year Strategic Plan

This Sheep Industry Strategic Plan provides the SA sheep industry with a clear vision of what the industry is capable of achieving and will help participants and stakeholders understand the benefits of working together in a number of key areas.

  • A united industry with a shared vision can more strongly influence and encourage Governments and national industry bodies to contribute to issues that are important to industry development in this State.
  • Increased farm production of meat and fibre, and processing of meat and co-products will boost the industry’s contribution to the State economy, and generate new employment.
  • This strategic paper highlights the potential gains for the wool industry through increasing the professionalism with which people manage their business.
  • Thoroughly understanding the demands and requirements of our downstream customers and adjusting our operations accordingly will deliver substantial increases in the total value and profitability of the sheep industry in the State – and; therefore, its attractiveness to producers, workers and investors.
