Nominations open for SA Citrus Industry Development Board

Nominations are being sought from citrus growers, packers, processors and marketers for membership of the South Australian Citrus Industry Development Board.

There are seven positions on the Board and nominations are being sought for the following:

  • Board Chairperson – the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, Hon Rory McEwen, will select the Chairperson from nominations received for this position.
  • Six Board members – a Selection Committee (comprising industry representatives who have been appointed by the Minister) will select six members in accordance with the Citrus Industry Regulations 2005 from nominations received for these positions.

The Regulations require the Board be represented of:

  • three persons who are eligible citrus growers and have extensive knowledge of and experience in the production of citrus fruit; and
  • three persons who have extensive knowledge of and experience in the marketing of citrus fruit or citrus fruit products or any other foodstuffs.

Nominations for the Chairperson or Board members can be made by an individual or group and should be accompanied by a statement of relevant knowledge and experience of the nominee, names of referees and an expression of willingness to be a Board member.
