About the Board
The Industry Development Board - Horticulture advises the Minister for Primary Industries on the long-term strategic direction for the horticultural industries in South Australia. It determines the most effective way to maximise growth by:
- Identifying the impediments and opportunities for growth in South Australia's horticultural industries.
- Developing ideas to increase returns to producers and expand market opportunities for the horticultural industries.
- Advising on the most effective role and recommending priorities for Government to achieve growth in the horticultural industries.
- Building on PIRSA's existing Industry Development Planning process and using the agency's market intelligence capabilities, and other sources of information, to develop five-year strategic plans for the industries.
- Reviewing agency programs and making recommendations to the Minister on the future direction of those programs.
The Board's primary objective is:
"To influence beneficial change in Horticulture with the aim of contributing to sustainable economic growth in South Australia."
