Crop and Pasture August 2007 Report Release, 5 September 2007.

Minister urges farmers to seek support.

August rainfall and total winter rainfall has been below average in all districts. Crops have lost significant yield potential due to the dry conditions and crop production estimates have been cut by over 20% as a result to 5.5mt. Significant rainfall is needed immediately to stabilise yield potential at current levels. As a result the acting Minister has urged farmers to seek support in his announcement of the release. Minister Announces Barley Export Advisory Committee, 5 July 2007.

As part of the requirements of the Barley Exporting Act 2007 (external site), Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Minister Rory McEwen has announced the membership of the Barley Export Advisory Committee. More details about the announcement (external site).
