The Barley Exporting Act 2007 (external site) repeals the Barley Marketing Act 1993. The new Act will become operational on 1 July 2007 and removes the restrictions on bulk export barley shipments from South Australia. Growers will now have greater choice of grain marketers able to access the barley export market. Traders will need to be accredited by the Essential Services Commission of SA (ESCOSA) (external site).
