Online GIS Datasets

Up-to-date digital tenement data is available for free download from SARIG, PIRSA's online web application — link to SARIG, select Map Data, then Petroleum.

SARIG

The South Australian Resources Information Geoserver, SARIG, is accessed from the PIRSA Minerals website. It enables explorers and the community to readily access substantial amounts of spatial geotechnical data to facilitate exploration. Users can search, view, create maps and download spatial data and information relating to minerals and petroleum exploration in South Australia. SARIG also contains ancillary data (such as topography, cultural information and parks and reserves) to provide context to the geotechnical data.

The following petroleum data are available:

  • petroleum tenements
  • pipelines
  • seismic horizon images for the Cooper and Otway basins
  • basic petroleum well and seismic line information
