Activity Approval and Notification

The relevant Regulations pertinent to current and new licensees in South Australia, with respect to activity notifications and information provision requirements for DMITRE approval are detailed under Regulations 16, 18, 19 and 20 in the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Regulations 2000.

High and Low Level Supervsion

Section 74 of the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Act 2000 (the Act) requires a mandatory licence condition which divides regulated activities carried out under a licence into those requiring “high level supervision” by the regulator and those requiring “low level supervision”.
