Lesson Plan - What are the Features of a Forest?

Task
- While on an excursion to a local forest, students will identify features of the forest and circle items on the sheet.
Key Learning Area
- Studies of Society and the Environment.
Resources Needed
- A forest to visit.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to identify and name many different features of a forest.
Lesson Layout
- Discuss the task and the contents of the sheet with the whole group.
- Students will work individually or in pairs to identify different features of a forest.
- Students can share their findings and compare and discuss them with the rest of the class.
Lesson Note
If visiting a local forest is not possible, visit a local park, nature reserve, botanic garden or wetland.
