A seedling being planted.

There are a number of ways in which you can help preserve South Australia’s precious native forests.

How Can You Help?

You can be involved in any of the following activities:

  • flora and fauna monitoring
  • seed collection and revegetation
  • control of pine regrowth and weed species in conservation areas
  • construction of nest boxes and visitor furniture
  • removal of rubbish from conservation areas
  • maintaining heritage buildings and sites
  • maintaining walking trails and information signs and providing services at information centres.

Friends of the Forests

Friends of the Forests is a volunteer organisation established by ForestrySA to enable volunteers to assist in a range of projects to help protect and improve conservation areas, heritage sites and visitor facilities in Forest Reserves.

Friends of Parks

The Department for Environment and Heritage supports a wide range of volunteer programs including local park management, Waterwatch and Frog Census. Activities occur across South Australia.
