Eucalyptus globulus Fertiliser Placement, Timing and Form Trial

AIMS:
To determine the growth response to different fertiliser placement methods at various times during the first season of growth

CONCLUSIONS:
*There was no statistically significant difference in total stem volume production (m3/ha), mean tree height or ba/ha (m2) between the nil fertiliser control plots and the highest ranked fertiliser treatments in this trial.
*There was no consistency of response across fertiliser treatments, whether applied at planting +2, 4 or 9 months as either a tablet, slot or eyebrow application.
*Poor growth responses and survival rates recorded across all treatments in this trial can be attributed to soil moisture conditions and not to weed control or fertiliser treatments.
