Forest Health

PIRSA Forestry seeks to protect and improve the health of forests in South Australia by:

  • supporting national strategies for the incursion of exotic pests, diseases and weeds as outlined in the national and state Biosecurity Strategies and the National Weed Strategy. These include the early detection and rapid response to new incursions through monitoring, quarantine and the education of forest personnel
  • promoting improved management practices to reduce the impact of existing pest, disease and weed problems in forests through integrated management practices
  • working with the forest industry, government and the community to manage pest and disease.
